The role of the supervisor in child welfare is critical to achieving successful outcomes for children and families. Supervisors are tasked with overseeing the daily issues related to the oversight of direct practice and the leadership-related, clinical, supportive and administrative aspects of managing social work practitioners.

The goal of this site is to provide a community forum in which supervisors and managers in Northern California can share experiences and strategies related to the common nature of supervision and some of the lessons learned in efficient decision-making for effective child welfare practice. Additionally, participants can share resources and best practices, post documents, exchange learning successes and challenges and increase knowledge through the exchange of information and networking to rejuvenate supervisory practice. It is our hope that this site will facilitate a collaborative learning environment in which a true community of practice can form and thrive to the benefit of the children and families we serve.
